Does anyone have the resources to help me find a clear bowling ball with a Tinkerbell in the middle?
I do not even have a picture. A friend of mine told me the pro shop by him had one about a year ago but i called and its been sold already about 6 mos ago and they never got more in. He couldnt even remember who made it.
So I'm on a mission... there is a purple Tinkerbell ball by Viz-A-Ball but I am looking for the clear one....
I believe the manufacturer is Lanehawk Industries. They are the company making clear bowling balls with various designs and figures inside the core. Your pro shop or even EBay may have some information on where to locate or order one. Good luck with your search!
Used Bowling Balls should i upgrade my bowling balls?
I have 2 Brunswick bowling balls that my uncle gave to me. both came out i believe in 1998, and have been barely used.
Bowling Balls:
Brunswick Zone special edition, Red Alert
Brunswick Zone PROACTIVE 2.0
are these high performance balls? can i get the same amount of hook on these as with todays high performance balls? are these reactive balls? im not even sure. my average is round 140
Should i put new grips in these balls and get them polished and fitted to me? or should i just not use them and buy a new high performance ball????
any advice is greatly appreciated
Brunswick Zone special edition, Red Alert - early rolling, even arching ball with the highest
hook potential ever (at that time). Red Alert is perfect for medium to heavy oil lane
conditions and a wide array of bowler styles.
Brunswick Zone PROACTIVE 2.0 - These older balls have the nice characteristic of absorbing much less oil than the current proactive, particle technology. So you won't have to adjust as much as you would with a more modern ball. That being said, it won't hook as much as modern equipment. If you like a more modern ball that hooks more, here are a few options:
Ebonite Game Plan.......good ball for a medium lane to medium heavy oil and drier lane conditions with higher polish. The Game Plan will give you good length and a smooth strong continuation on the back-end making this ball good for most house shots and even sports league shots. Very good ball.
The Storm Virtual Gravity Nano is awesome, especially on heavier oil. Tommy Hess used it to win his first PBA tournament a couple weeks ago.
I am more of a stroker, and throw about 14 mph. I just got the Hammer Jigsaw Trap (after throwing Storm for many years) and it has a very nice "skid/snap". It doesn't hook too early, gets down the lane and hits the pocket like a truck. I bowl on medium/heavy oil and it's perfect for that.
It just depends on what you want out of your ball. I would try the Brunswicks (since they were given to you) and see what they do for you. If you're not satisfied with the reaction you're getting, then upgrade to a modern ball.
Bowling Ball Drilling How much should it cost for me to get my bowling ball drilled by someone who knows what they're doing?
It dependes what you want done to it. Finger inserts and thumg slugs are extra. Talk to your pro shop guy and ask him. Normally 30 - 40 dollars is average
Hi, I like to bowl evey now and then, but I heard that its easier to get better games when you use your own ball. I think this makes sense, because you get used to your ball, and don't have to use house balls. My question is, what is the average price of a bowling ball, and I would need to get it drilled as well. And is there anything else I would need to know?
There are bowling balls for beginners starting at $45.
Intermediate reactive resin bowling balls range from $65 to $90.
High Performance bowling balls range from $100 to $329
(These are online prices. Pro shops may be higher and may not include drilling and inserts)
Drilling prices usually range from $35 - to $55 for all three holes, and maybe $5 per insert (thumb slug and two fingers each). Some pro shops may even charge for ball fitting (measuring your finger span to match onto the bowling ball before drilling).
Also, please consider purchasing your own bowling shoes. They now have pretty hip styles and not the basic looking shoes that people have linked to bowling for generations. They look like tennis shoes, and fashion club shoes too.
Check out bowling.com, bowlersparadise.com and bowlingballsales.com for their selection of bowling equipment. Good luck!
