Cobalt Bomb

What car do you think would win this race 2006 pontiac sunfire or 1988 chevy camaro?
I am due to race a kid with a pontiac sunfire with 2.2l ecotec, what gm puts in the cobalts. it runs 168 hp unrestricted. and 140 hp with stock piping. My 1988 Chevy Camaro has a 305 throttle body injected motor, automatic transmission with a shift kit and an aftermarket cherry bomb glass pack but thats about it. the old chevy has a verrrrry slight miss because of timing. who do you think will win
the most intellegent and correct answer with stats will win the 10 points
Im trying to learn a bit about racing
You don't give any stats for your Camaro, but I would estimate that the earlier answer is correct in assuming around 200 hp currently. I don't know what the curb weight of your particular vehicle is, but if it's anything like the ~3K lb. Camaros of its era, your mass-to-power ratio (power-to-weight is mathematically meaningless) is at a bit of a disadvantage to his; he may only pull 140-168, but Sunfires are light. Modern engines have much more favorable (and constant) torque curves than those of years past, so you are also at a disadvantage there. You don't mention tires, but since I assume you've changed them at more-or-less regular intervals, they shouldn't be an issue. Technically speaking, your car is at a bit of a mechanical disadvantage, and since you refer to him as a "kid," he probably has an edge in reaction time. However, he is also probably fairly inexperienced, and may drop the ball from over-eagerness, so my advice is to rely on intimidation.
