Is there a world record for the fastest ten pin bowling ball?

I've read that the average bowling speed is about 13-16 mph. Is there a world record high speed?

Not sure, but when I watch PBA telecasts and bowl in regional tournaments, I see that Robert Smith and Eugene McCune can pick up their spares at around 23-24 mph. For 1st ball shots, I'd have to say that the typical speed for professionals is around 17-19 mph.

HELP! Which Bowling ball to buy?

I'm on my high schools bowling team and I'm looking towards purchasing my own bowling ball. I learned how to hook last year, but its not very strong yet. So right now i'm looking for a bowling ball that is around $100 or less that has good hook. I'm a slow bowler, around 10-11 mph using a 14lb so i think im going to get a 12lb instead to gain speed. I was reading about the HAMMER ANGER ball and that looks pretty good, but if you know any others that you could tell me about i would really appreciate it. Thanks

If you want something good and durable, try Brunswick's new Swarm, Maxx Zone, Copperhead or Ultimate Inferno. Hammer does have four different types of "RAW" models, of which the "Anger" is part of, and they are excellent bowling balls for those bowlers with a slow speed. You can find them for around $100 on bowling.com and shipping is free throughout the lower 48 United States. Good luck with your search!
