Bowling Ball Lamps
i just got a ball python and have a 60 watt basking lamp for 12 hrs then a 60 watt red bulb for 12 hrs?
Im wondering if this is ok? Do i need some other light or something else?
(i have it on newspaper, i have a few hiding places, and it has one water bowl tha'ts large enough to soak in.)
Temperature: 80 - 85 F (27 - 29 C) during the day, with a basking spot of around 90 F (32 C). Night time temperatures can fall to around 75 F (23 -24 C) as long as an area of 80 F is maintained. An under the tank heating pad designed for reptiles works well for providing the cage heat, with an incandescent bulb or ceramic heating element used to provide the basking temperatures. Never use hot rocks, and the bulb or heat element should be placed or screened off to prevent contact with the snake or burns may result. Use multiple thermometers to monitor the temperatures in the cage (one at the bottom of the cage and one at the basking spot).

How To Select The Right Type Of Essential Oil Diffuser For Your Needs
To gain the benefits of essential oils through inhalation is through diffusers. A diffuser fragrances the air and is excellent for scenting a room to enhance mood, aid in respiration, or eliminate odors or airborne bacteria and viruses.
Putting essential oil droplets on a metal or ceramic ring easily diffuse the aroma through the air. This uses direct heat but is very cheap ranging from $5-$15 dollars (like citrus essential oils),this will quickly burn off the most volatile oils and calls for reapplication of oils, also there is a fire possibility. It also tends to diminish their therapeutic value -- not to mention increase the risk of getting burned or possibly starting a fire.
Candle-Based Diffusers or Aroma Lamps A candle-based diffuser is another heat burning method like a potpourri burner. They typically range in price from $10 - $25. Therefore the oil will be released through the steam. Electric Heat-Based Diffusers the highly common ones are the Scent Ball and Car Scenter. An essential oil cotton pad highly saturated in contact with a ceramic or metal plate. The diffuser is designed for a car and the heat is derived from the AC lighter adapter, slowly releasing the scent. These diffusers can effectively scent a small space with continuous diffusion. Depending on the intensity depends on the amount added. They cost between $10 and $15, replacement pads can be difficult to find.
Fan-Based Electric Diffusers Fan-based electric diffusers like the Spa Scenter are a great way to fragrance a big place. Like the Scent Ball and Car Scenter, they also use cotton pads though round and larger. Essential oils are applied to the cotton pad in varying amounts depending on desired strength of the scent, this uses a fan to blow the fragrance instead of heat. These units run somewhere in the $30 to $50 range and are quiet the perfect choice for creating a spa environment.
