bowling question about release?

why does my wrist hurt after bowling just a few games. what could i be doing mechanically wrong. ive just recently started throwing a curve ball and its reacting a lot so i have to throw it fast on most normal lane conditions. i try not to rev the ball to much just the "shake hands or answer the telephone" position. i would like to avoid using a wrist brace or glove can u please help a rookie bowler?

If you have trouble holding onto your bowling ball, it's probably a bit too heavy. It may or may not have anything to do with your mechanics, but that would be for a certified USBC or PBA coach to determine.

I have a basic style but although I cup my wrist for extra revolutions and loft and release it with a "textbook" delivery/followthrough, I still am able to put necessary speed and hook on the ball with less effort. When my wrist developed tendonitis, I wore a basic bowling glove with no palm pad under an Ebonite Magforce 3000/9000 soft glove wrister with "magnets" in the wrist support to help prevent pain and injury.

I swear by that wrist support combination, and it does not bind your wrist or make it too stiff where you cannot flex it while bowling. It feels so natural and sometimes feels like you're not wearing any support. It's gotten me an opportunity to apply for my PBA card once more and even bowled 7 "300's", 3 "700' + series" and 1 "800 + series" with that specific combination. Check bowling.com, bowlersparadise.com or bowlingball.com for further information on wrist supports. Good luck!

Who's your favorite football player all time?

Mine is a very close tie between Thurman Thomas of the Buffalo Bills and Barry Sanders. I liked them both. Thurman Thomas worked so hard as a small man and dominated with his hands and rushing the ball. He has the record for most postseason TD's in the NFL. Look it up if you don't believe me. They went to four Super Bowls. Lost, but I don't care they were still my team back then. Alltime team is the 1990's Buffalo Bills. I will always love that team! Anyway, Barry Sanders I never seen a better football player period not even Walter Payton and I was old enough to see him play the running back position. Barry Sanders was something to see on TV he was exciting to watch. Anyway, who's your favorite football player all time at any position Defense or Offense doesn't matter. Who?

YEAH, another BILLS fan!! My all time favorite team is also the 1990's Bills. My favorite player is Doug Flutie. He showed that you CAN play QB under 6ft tall. I will never forgive Wade Phillips for benching him after he got them to the playoffs!!
