New Bowling Balls Is there a way to remove scratches from bowling balls?
I have balls designed for hooking and it took me a while to get the throw down. I kind of scratched my ball(not severely). I think it might affect my game.
Is there a way to remove scratches? Also roughly how much would it cost?
Since the entire coverstock material reaches all the way through to the core, any repair, buffing out or filling in will not affect the way the bowling ball will react at all.
It actually does not matter if the ball damage occurs on the track because if it's buffed out, polished or sanded to bring it back to "like new" appearance, it will not alter or change the way you bowl because it will track on the same exact spot anyways on the ball.....
I've had minor chips, dents, gouges and scratches occur on the track area of my bowling balls throughout the years during many league nights, amateur tournaments and even during a PBA national tour event I bowled in, and had no problems with the damage at all.
Your pro shop will take care of it, and if you did not purchase it there, they will not charge you for the repair, especially if you bowl league in that house. If they do, it's going to cost between $5-$10.

I have a bowling avg of 220. I leave 5 to 7 ten pins a game. without buying a new ball, what can I do?
I have resurfaced my bowling balls. One ball has 2000 polish,
another has polish pluse extender, another has 1000 polish and one has 1000 sanded. HELP
First of all, as the guy above me said, you can't leave 5-7 ten pins a GAME and average 220, maybe you mean 5-7 per series. Anyway, if you are in the pocket but leaving corner pins, making a slight adjustment can change your entry angle just enough to carry those pesky corners. Try either moving half a board left or right or 6 inches up or back on the approach. One of these moves should get you just a little different reaction that you need to carry.

Bowling strikes and cleaning up spares require that you concentrate and relax throughout your bowling motions. In case you don't know yet, a strike is when you knock down all ten pins on your first attempt. A spare is when you knock down all ten pins over the course of your two attempts. It is very hard to score points in bowling when you fail to at least get a spare.
The first step to good bowling is learning to recognize the condition of the bowling lane. You need to take note of whether the lane is oily, with balls sliding a lot, or dry, with balls mostly rolling. Neither one of them is any easier than the other, but you do need to realize which you are dealing with.
Always visualize yourself bowling the strike or spare before you make an attempt. You want to then go out and make your attempt just like you visualized, so it is important that your visualized attempt included a smooth motion and a proper release. After proper visualization, you just go out and do what you visualized. A benefit to visualizing this way is that you are always making your attempts at strikes and spares with a clear plan in mind of how the ball will travel and how you will hit the pins. The biggest mistake a new bowler can make is just trying to toss a bowling ball down the center of the lane and hoping it hits something, without any specific goal in mind.
It used to be the hardest part of learning how to bowl was keeping score. It is truly a complex game to learn how to score in the beginning, but fortunately nearly all bowling alleys now feature computers that calculate your scores for you. The important thing to remember is that you get a lot of bonus points beyond the number of pins you hit when you hit consecutive strikes. You want to at least get spares when you can't get strikes or you could find yourself ending with a double digit score. You might note someone calling you a turkey or a chicken during the game. Don't worry, those are compliments in bowling. A turkey is three strikes in a row, while a chicken is three spares in a row.
Beginners should really concentrate more on learning to throw the ball straight. Spins are more for the professionals, and you can hurt yourself twisting your wrist instead of your fingers. It isn't unusual for a beginner to score in the triple digits by simply throwing a plastic ball straight towards the pins of choice. This is particularly true when trying to clean up with a spare. The best part of a plastic ball that travels straight is that the type of surface doesn't need to be gaged and calibrated in order to bowl straight. You can always learn how to play with hooks after you are consistently a triple digit bowler, but the straight shots will still serve you well.

Bowling Ball Oven My Ball Pythons keep getting mites, how do i fix it?
I have 2 ball pythons and they keep getting mites. We have treated them with this Reptile Relief stuff and it gets rid of them pretty quickly but about two weeks later they came back. The room they were in was cleaned throughly by a professional cleaning crew even. The snakes have been on newspaper and they have a granite water bowl, wood hide cave, and a wood climbing structure in their 30 gallon tank. This is the third time they have gotten mites in the past month and a half and each time we cleaned the cage with bleach and water and sprayed the Reptile Relief stuff in the cage and let it sit in the sun for 5 or 6 hours as well as putting the wooden stuff in the oven at 250 degrees for 3 hours or so. We also put the Reptile Relief stuff on the snakes as well.
We noticed them again today and we are moving the tank to a different place in the house.
I dont know what else to do, please help!!!
first two snakes should not live in the same tank stress and disease can spread between the two. now to your proplem at hand. that reptile relief is junk.
please do not use any powders as it can be harmful to your reptiles when they breath it. there is only on good product out there and it's the same product the pro's use to treat there new snake's and if they ever have an out breack. now the name of this product is provent-a-mite also known as PAM and cost about $20.00 for a spray can and it contains 0.50% permethrin now you can save about $15.00 if you buy a lice spray from you local drug strore with the same active ingredient and use it in the same way as PAM . now when you use PAM clean your snake's encloser with hot water and dry it out once dry you spray a few sheets of newspaper with pam and let it dry once it's dry you place it in your snakes encloser and replace your snake. now you will want to repeat this for about 60 days to play it safe and after ever every cleaning get all the old bedding and paper that is use to clean your encloser out of the house other wise it will be harder to get rid of those mites. NEVER SPRAY PAM ON YOUR SNAKE AS IT CAN KILL YOUR SNAKE. remember you must let the spray dry on the paper before useing it.
edit: soaking will help a little but it will not get the eggs form the mites and you will have trouble longer and stress the snake more in the long run it will help in the short run but you need to treat to kill any and all eggs.

put it in a bucket of hot or warm water with some dawn dish soap, or whatever kind of dish soap you have. after you put it in leave it there take it out and clean it then repeat another couple times. if you just do not wanna do that then take it to you local pro shop and the might have a special oven, or Ebonite's hook again chemical compound. I have never use the Hook Again though, so I'm not sure how it works. I'd suggest just doing the water thing, just DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THE CAR RIGHT AFTER, WATER WILL GET CAUGHT IN SIDE AND CAN FREEZE AND EXPAND AND IN TURN CRACK YOUR BALL(S) IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE.
