So I am trying to figure the price for guinea pigs and supplies... Tell em if these are right/close:
2 Guinea Pigs: $70 (that's Petsmarts. I'm getting them from a shelter, if I do get them)
Cage: $55 (I am doing a large playpen and tarp)
Food bowls (2): $10
Water bottles (2): $10
Hay: $15
Food: $10
Hut: $20
Tunnel: $20
Barbell toy: $5
Extra: $20
ICE: $50 (will add to over time)
I am making more toys, so don't tell me to buy more. I'm doing paper bags, sock w/ tennis ball tied off inside, crumpled paper, toilet paper rolls, plastic slinkies, etc.
Costs depends on where you shop, buy in bulk or not, buy new or used, buy stuff on sale, use reusable bedding, etc.
I own 4 guinea pigs(and 1 newborn pup)
I rescued all of them= $0
My cages are C&C cages that I've expanded over a couple years=$130-$150
Buy hay from a horse friend=$4 for 6 months worth
Use fleece bedding for most of the cage= $2-$5 per blanket(one time cost)
Bale of pine horse bedding that lasts 4 months= $7
Bulk pellets for 2 months=$15
Fresh veggies bought weekly=$10-$15
Igloos/toys/dishes/etc=around $100(over time)
They can also have health problems and need vet care(at least $30 a visit not including any meds).
*****
Guinea pigs can live up to 8+ years if properly cared for. They should always be kept in pairs or groups(same sex or altered) indoors, in a cage with at least 7.5sq ft(10sq ft for males) on one level and daily floor time/handling, to be happy and healthy. I have found fleece with mattress pads underneath is the easiest and cheapest for bedding.

They should have unlimited access to fresh water(no Vit C drops) and grass hay available at all times, 1/8-1/4 cup of plain guinea pig pellets(no coloured bits, nuts, seeds, or dried veggies) and 1 cup of fresh veggies per pig daily. Store bought treats/seed sticks are often unhealthy and potentially harmful.

Same sex animals living together DO NOT need to be altered, it does not change behaviour and will not make them get along. Breeding is very dangerous for the females, so do not keep intact opposite sexed animals together.

Bowling is one of the most popular sports in the world. In bowling, players attempt to score the most points by rolling a ball along a flat surface in order to knock down objects called pins. There are several types of bowling games, but the official, and most popular, bowling game is ten-pin bowling.
There are several types of bowling but the most popular (and also the official) one is the ten-pin bowling. In this type, ten pins are set up at the end of a 60-foot lane. They are ten knocked down by a ball made usually of polyester or polyurethane. There are usually two players competing against each other in three sets, with each set having ten rounds.
In ten-pin bowling, players use a 16-pound, 8.5-inch diameter bowling ball to knock over ten pins at the end of a 60-foot long bowling lane. Usually, two players would compete against each other in three sets, with 10 rounds on each set.
Like most other popular leisure sports like golf or tennis, bowling also needs several equipment in order for you to play it properly. The equipment are usually inexpensive and should be affordable by normal or casual players, but the serious and hardcore ones usually spend a large amount of money getting the best and the newest ones. For the casual players, though, all equipment can be rented at the bowling center.
Bowling players have the following equipment:
Bowling balls - A round ball made from rubber, urethane, plastic, reactive resin, or a combination of these materials. Ten-pin bowling balls have three drilled holes in them - one for the ring and middle finger, and one for the thumb.
Bowling bags - Carries and protects one or more bowling balls.
Bowling accessories - Non-slip grip cream, grip sacks, bowling ball maintenance tools, hand and wrist grip supports, towels, gloves, bowling ball cleaning equipment and supplies
Bowling shoes - Narrow shoes with a very smooth sole
Bowling clothes - Bowling games usually take place in air-conditioned bowling centers. Casual attire can be worn.
Compared to bowling players, bowling center operators have different bowling equipment. Their most important concern in a bowling center is the bowling alleys. A bowling alley has different parts and equipment that require operation and maintenance.
These are the equipment required in bowling alleys:
Bowling lane - A long plane where a bowling ball rolls towards the pins. Long wooden boards are joined together to form a 75-foot long and 3.5-foot wide lane. The wooden plane is very smooth. It requires maintenance by cleaning and polishing.
Bowling machine - A device that places and rearranges the pins.
Bowling ball retriever - A device that retrieves the ball after every shot, and returns it, via a tunnel, to the player at the other end of the alley.
Players' area - At the end of the tunnel is a ball-sorting mechanism. A hand blow dryer may also be installed at the bowling ball sorter. A computer and display monitors show players the game points. The players would have seats and a table. A rack with extra bowling balls would usually be placed beside the seats.

How To Buy A Bowling Ball Where do I go to buy a bowling ball in the Alicante region in Spain?
It's my husbands birthday soon and I want to get him a bowling ball made but we have not lived in Alicante for long and I'm not sure where to go.
I would try El Corte Ingles in Alicante, they have a massive sports section and if they cannot supply, they should be able to tell you where to try. Don;t forget though, a bowling ball needs to be made to fit the user, they are not off the shelf items as the holes are drilled to fit the persons grip

Place to buy bowling ball in NYC?
I am looking to buy a bowling ball in person in New York City. It is a gift and as I don't know anything about bowling balls, I'd like to see the equipment and speak to someone in person to figure out what is best. (In other words, would rather not order online if possible...) Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
You can go to most bowling alley's and ask the Pro in the Pro Shop. First, I'd do a search online for bowling alley's in your area, then call to see if they have a Pro Shop. You can buy a ball, then have the person you bought if for go to the Pro Shop to have it drilled. But, if this person is a serious bowler, they may rather pick the ball themselves.
i'm thinking about majoring in sociology ,but before i do that i want a professional information about what kind of job i would be doing after i graduate college with sociology degree? the target is Rutgers University in new brunswick nj. i took several sociology classes and i really liked and i got very good grade ,but before i take a big step i want some answers, please help!!
I'm a Sociology Major at Western Washington University. I'm focusing on Criminology. With a Soc degree, you can focus on issues that interest you, for example, family, population, criminology, and so forth. If you focus on Criminology, you can get a good job in the justice system (crime scene investigation, detective work, etc...). If you focus on Family, you can get a good job in social work, CPS, etc. If you focus on population, you can get a job in survey management. The options are endless.

(May 2009)- Verrill Dana's Health Technology Group is pleased to support The Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership's 2009-2010 Hanley Fellows Class.
The Hanley Fellows Program is named in honor of the late Dan Hanley, M.D. (1916-2001), an internationally-known physician leader who served as physician to the U.S. Olympic Team, college doctor at Bowdoin College, and executive director of the Maine Medical Association. Bowling Ball Ratings Would people watch an "all white" basket ball team or league.?
I've asked some people around me this question and they said, "no". One guy said that it will get as much ratings as golf or bowling.
Not really because i have little to no interest in basket ball to begin with, its too boring how it is at the moment, id rather play it than watch it i don't really give a shit who plays it professionally because the only sport i like to watch and play is mma

It is not uncommon to find families at the bowling alley on weekends, but many families are finding it more cost effective if they go to the bowling alley during the week. Bowling alleys like to offer specials during the week that will allow a family of four to bowl for one or two hours at a cheaper rate than on weekends. This extra savings can be used to buy yummy treats at the concession stand.
There are other benefits to be found when families bowl during the week. Many bowling alleys honor coupons that are on food cartons and these coupons pay for free games of bowling. Other coupons can be found that will pay for bowling shoes if the lanes are rented on certain days, and during certain hours. Families can realize very quickly that bowling can be a low cost source of family entertainment if someone takes the time to clip a coupon out of the newspaper.
Most concession stands will offer great prices on foods that children are certain to eat. No child will turn down a good pizza, or a stack of French fries that are plentiful enough for several people to eat at one sitting. The hot dogs that are kept warm throughout the day are offered with condiments such as ketchup, mustard and relish and at some bowling alleys people can enjoy some onions. There are always plenty of soft drinks to be enjoyed and families can eat their snacks on a pretty table.
Some families find that they can spend time together in the game room before they begin to bowl. Many bowling alleys have installed video games and other game machines, as well as pinball machines that will bring back good memories for most parents. These machines have always been popular with the younger crowd but Mom and Dad like playing them too if there is some family competition involved. These games are an affordable way for families to be entertained and enjoy being close for a short while doing something special.
Some parents will give bowling balls as Christmas gifts and select a matching bag in designer colors with graphic designs on them too. Some bowlers require certain accessories to be in control of the bowling game and parents might buy bowling gloves if a child finds them to be useful while carrying an oversized object that they are unfamiliar with. Some people just use powder to remove moisture from the hands, and cost conscious families might just rely on the built-in fans that are installed on every bowling lane.
Bowlers can budget their fun very easily because bowling alleys rent the lanes by the number of games of bowling that are actually played. A family could spend more time than is needed to finish the game and nobody at the bowling alley will say much about it. If leagues are in session, it might be difficult to find an open lane and families understand this and work their games in around them.
